Sam W. Boone, Jr.

Since 1980, Sam has focused on the preservation, growth, control and transfer of estates, including tax planning, probate, planning for incapacity and care for his clients, along with succession strategies for small businesses. In addition to counseling his clients, he continually educates other professionals and the general public about estate tax and proper estate planning throughout Florida . The focus of Sam Boone’s estate planning practice is based on his own straightforward personal goals — fortifying families, protecting legacies, shielding against the problems brought about by incapacity, and ensuring that the dreams parents have for their children are not lost to taxes, poor planning or procrastination.

Mr. Boone graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1978 and began his practice with a mid-sized Tallahassee law firm. He opened his own law office in 1980 and is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts, as well as the Federal Courts of the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida and the U.S. Tax Court. He participates in extensive continuing education, while satisfying his broad commitments to the community, including participation as member of the Board of Directors of the local Area Agency on Aging. He is a sole practitioner and serves "Of Counsel" to Paleveda & Rome, LLC, a national law firm dedicated to estate planning and administration.

As an active member of the Florida Bar’s Elder Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Sections (including membership on the RPPTL Executive Council and various substantive law committees including Guardianship and Trust Law), the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, the North Florida Estate Planning Council, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, he continually stays on top of the quickly changing profession and estate planning laws by speaking at professional seminars sponsored for attorneys and licensed financial professionals.

Sam is an avid nurseryman and Master Gardener, and is active in charitable, fraternal and genealogical organizations where he serves on a local, state and national level as an officer, director and legal advisor. Both of his adult children live in Alachua County enabling him to enjoy their company on a regular basis.

He’ll take the time to get to know you as an individual, to learn about your hopes and preferences; to understand what makes you comfortable and what makes you most proud about your life and family.

That’s the foundation. From there, he applies a superb mastery of the law, legal theories, taxes, and court and administrative decisions to create an estate plan that’s not only technically airtight, but is animated by the spirit and values that define you—your work ethic, your devotion to family, your generosity.

The plan, and the documents which make it work for you, will be explained in straightforward language you and your family can understand. And, if you become incapacitated, or when you pass away, Sam and his staff are there to assist your loved ones in protecting and settling your estate.
